Fencing is the first line of defence for Indian farms, factories, and properties. But not all fencing wire is equal. The difference between a fence that lasts 5 years and one that lasts 20 years comes down to wire quality — specifically the zinc coating weight, wire gauge consistency, and ductility that determines how well the wire performs during installation and across years of outdoor exposure.
Profence is Systematic Group’s dedicated fencing wire range, developed and designed keeping the interest of farmers and converters in mind. The wires are drawn and coated specifically to suit fencing products like barbed wire and chain link fences.
The foundation of the range. Profence wires are available in diameters from 1.6 mm to 4 mm, designed to be used by wire converters who manufacture finished fencing products. These wires have four key properties that differentiate them from generic GI wire:
Operator and machine friendly: the wires have the required softness for smooth feeding through barbed wire machines and chain link weaving equipment, reducing breakage and downtime during production.
Homogeneous coating thickness of 90–120 GSM: this ensures even, consistent corrosion protection across the entire wire surface, eliminating the thin spots that cause premature failure in lower-quality wire.
Consistent quality: batch-to-batch consistency in diameter, tensile strength, and coating weight, critical for converters who need predictable machine performance.
Desired ductility and tensile: the balance is specifically calibrated for fencing applications — strong enough to resist cutting and impact, flexible enough to bend during installation without cracking.
The finished barbed wire product manufactured using Profence wire. Profence barbed wire is designed for agricultural boundary security and perimeter protection, built to standards that earn it export quality certification.
Specifications: hot-dip uniform zinc coating of 120–150 GSM for high resistance to corrosion, heavy gauge 12g (2.64 mm) wire that is easy to see and strong enough to resist animal impact, 4-point sharp barbs for maximum security, barb-to-barb distance of 3 inches (76 mm) ensuring enhanced protection from animal movement, and wire that is easy to tie and bend during installation.
The 120–150 GSM coating weight is significantly higher than budget barbed wire products, which often use 30–60 GSM. This heavy coating is what separates a 5-year barbed wire fence from a 15–20 year one.
High-performance chain link fencing manufactured using Profence wire. The chain link range covers a comprehensive set of agricultural, industrial, and residential applications.
Profence chain link fencing uses: wire diameters from 1.80 mm to 4.00 mm, mesh sizes including 40×40 mm, 50×50 mm, 60×60 mm, 65×65 mm, 75×75 mm, and 100×100 mm, both knuckled and twisted selvage as per requirement, and hot-dip zinc coating of 120–150 GSM.
The primary use case in India. Profence chain link and barbed wire protect crops from cattle, goats, wild boar, and other animals. The combination of robust wire gauge and heavy zinc coating ensures that the fence withstands years of outdoor exposure without weakening. For farms also requiring trellis wire, Systematic Group offers Agriline as a complementary product.
Creating secure enclosures for sheep, goats, and cattle requires fencing that resists animal impact without deforming. Profence chain link with 12–10 gauge wire and 50–65 mm mesh provides the strength needed to contain livestock reliably.
Securing poultry farms from predators (dogs, foxes, raptors) is a constant challenge. Profence chain link with smaller mesh sizes (40–50 mm) provides an effective barrier. Inside the farm, cages are built using Poultryline wire for maximum corrosion resistance.
Factories, construction sites, residential compounds, and sports facilities use Profence chain link for perimeter security and boundary marking. For installations where aesthetic appearance matters, PVC coated chain link is available. For installations requiring the longest possible life, Galvasys coating provides the premium option.
Profence wire is specifically formulated for fencing applications — the softness, tensile, ductility, and coating weight are all optimised for barbed wire machines and chain link weaving equipment. Generic GI wire is manufactured to broader industrial specifications that may not be optimal for fencing production.
Profence base wire uses 90–120 GSM. Profence barbed wire and chain link use 120–150 GSM. These are significantly higher than budget fencing products (30–60 GSM).
